Estellise: "Um. Was that not right?"
Yuri: "Nah... It's fine..."
Secret of Mana
Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena
Happy Chosens Day!
“We’re a couple of shooting stars, and we’ll never be stopped.”
Do you ever wonder if your family wonders if you’re gay.
Mainly for my own reference..
Ib: A young girl named Ib visits an art gallery with her parents.
While observing the many exhibits, she suddenly realizes she is alone.
And in her search for others, she finds things awry in the gallery…
One of my favourite RPGs with well developed and lovable characters. There are few jump scares and basic puzzle solving. Takes a few hours to play but definitely recommend it!
The Witch’s House:The young Viola visits a mysterious house in the woods.
She soon discovers its dangerous nature and must find a way out.
But the house is ever-changing, and death could be lurking anywhere…
Another one of my favourites, with a plot twist that you never see coming. Many jump scares and puzzles. Again takes a few hours to play.
Mad Father: Aya lives in a secluded mansion with her father Alfred (also known as Doctor) and his assistant Maria. Her mother, Monika, passed away a year ago from an unknown illness. One night on the eve of the anniversary of her mother’s death Aya is awakened by her father’s scream, only to find her home riddled with walking corpses and other supernatural things. Determined to save her father, she must now face the true nature of his work.
The story was really nice, and I loved the music. Basic puzzle solving, very few jump scares and some chases. Takes a few hours to play.
Alice Mare: Allen is a boy who has lost his memory.
Bereaved of his parents, he comes to a certain facility.
One day, he goes to investigate an odd rumor, and…
I loved the character designs in this game. All characters back stories are based off of well loved fairy tails. There are no jump scares or chases and just require basic puzzle solving. Ambiguous sometimes and leaves it to the players imagination to interpret some aspects.
Misao: Help…Find me…
Misao had been missing for three months when Aki awoke to the sound of her classmate’s voice. Most of her peers thought Misao to be dead. When a mysterious earthquake shakes the school Aki goes to, she and her classmates - as well as their homeroom teacher Mr. Sohta - are teleported into another dimension. Aki’s classmates blame Misao’s Curse and Aki sets out to collect the six missing parts of Misao’s body to break the curse.
You will die many times in this game. There are also jump scares. Trigger warning for bullying, violence, murder and sexual assault. Also there are a few grotesque scenes. However I quite enjoyed this game. Takes a few hours to play.
The Crooked Man: David Hoover decides to move into a new apartment during a rough time in his life.
After some odd occurrences, he decides to ask about the room’s former owner, but learns little.
So he sets off in search of him, strangely compelled to know more about this man…
Mermaid Swamp: Rin Yamazaki and her college friends have their car break down in the mountains on a trip.
Fortunately, a kindly old man offers to let them stay at his house.
But there’s a legend about the swamp outside the mansion…
I’m in the middle of playing this one right now, it seems very interesting and I quite like some of the art. Some images are graphic.
A birdie flew across the roof yesterday.
He said he’ll fly over again today.
But he landed on water.
Are you here yet?
Very short and ambiguous game. There are no jump scares or chases and only involves very simple puzzles.
Pen Pals: Penpals is a game about finding your mom, accompanied by your abusive friend called Pal. Roaming the towns called Onion Town, and Understanding. There are some ghosts.
I have yet to play this but the art seems very pretty
Re: Kinder: Third-grader Shunsuke goes to stay over at his grandmother’s house.
Upon his return home, he finds not his familiar hometown, but a ruined town of death.
He meets his surviving friends and some other children their age, but a crueler reality awaits them…
Warning: This game contains a fair amount of gore and various other disturbing content.
Paranoiac: Miki Takamura is a novelist who has to live in her aunt’s house three years after her passing. But strange things start to happen in the house…
The SandMan:For days now, Sophie Grundler has been unable to sleep.
Bullied at school, and her father busy with work, she simply has to endure.
Then one night, the clock in her room stops ticking…
Yume Nikki: You explore the dreams of a young girl, collecting “effects” as you go.
It took me awhile to play, its an exploration game. There are a few somewhat disturbing scenes.. Also an epilepsy warning.
.flow:A Yume Nkki fan game. The gameplay is very similar and you have to collect effects.
The Looking Glass: The Looking Glass is a game about a young girl named Irene who finds she can meld through her mirror and come out on the other side to the Mirror World; a place that is composed of mirror images of her bedroom, her apartments, and her home town. Not only that, but the world itself is filled with many interesting sub worlds. The laws of reality are warped in the Mirror World, and as such, Irene can run across bizarre locations, interesting and intriguing characters and animals, and aquire her own abilities by finding them scattered throughout the worlds.
Another Yume Nikki fan game, the art is very nice and I like the Alice element. There are a few Homestuck references
I didn’t add Corpse Party because I couldn’t find the download link… I commented on the games I have played and simply copy and pasted the descriptions for the games I have not. Feel free to add to this list!
